Combining mid-class performance and Sugomi presence with quarter litre category dimensions, the Z500 and Z500 SE are blasting into the 2027 Kawasaki road bike range.

With brisk acceleration available with a twist of the wrist from the recently introduced  451cc engine, the Z500 provides plenty of power in the low- to mid-rpm range, and enough in the high-rpm range to target highway speeds with ease. The combination of the new 33.4 kW A2 European licence compliant engine and a lightweight chassis make the Z500 well-suited to a wide variety of riding situations including everyday riding.

A trellis type chassis conceived with light weight, manoeuvrability, and mass centralisation in mind, provides excellent feel and inspires confidence for a wide range of riders while its triple headlight-centred front face and aggressive Sugomi lines making it clear that this is a full member of the Z family.

Boasting a low seat height of just 785 mm, the slim design of both the seat and the rear of the engine area delivers riders an unobstructed line for their feet to reach the ground. This is allied to a relatively upright riding position and wide handlebar putting the rider in the ideal position for active control.

Kawasaki’s Assist & Slipper Clutch results in a light clutch pull for even more rider-friendly and manageable riding in everyday situations plus reduced skipping and hopping from the rear wheel on down-changes for added confidence.

Both the LCD instrument panel on the standard models and the TFT display on the SE option offer smartphone connectivity via the Rideology App, enabling riders to connect with their machines to enjoy display notifications, riding logs, and community features.

The TFT meter on the SE delivers a digital speedometer, digital bar-style tachometer, gear position indicator, shift lamp, fuel gauge, odometer, dual trip meters, current and average fuel consumption, remaining range, average speed, total time, coolant temperature, clock, battery voltage, Kawasaki service reminder, oil change reminder, and an Economical Riding Indicator. Additionally, the SE is equipped with a stylish two-piece under cowl.

Standard or SE, the Z500 sits confidently in Kawasaki’s expanding range of European A2 licence friendly machines joining further motorcycles being announced for the 2027 model range making the prospect of the coming season a genuine blast.

The 2027 colours are below, with the Z500 costing £5,799 and the SE model £6,149. Both bikes will be available from October.

  • Z500: EBONY / METALLIC CARBON GRAY

  • Z500 SE: CANDY PERSIMMON RED / METALLIC CARBON GRAY

  • Z500 SE: PEARL BLIZZARD WHITE / CANDY LIME GREEN TYPE 3 / EBONY

Imbued with Sugomi, their performance excites; a ride on a Z Supernaked is a visceral experience that stimulates the senses; engine and chassis tuning deliver a high level of control.
